Notice Me

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

IMG_9513

Proverbs refers to life as a whirlwind.  Before we know it it will have passed.  (Proverbs 10:25)

I was tidying up the kitchen when my daughters colorful April calendar hanging on the refrigerator, cried out for my attention.  With my head far off in a distant cloud of thoughts somewhere, filled with the usual should be by nows and need to do lists, I ignored it’s plea.

Just then, I heard the whisper of God breathe,  Notice Me.  As I came out from my cloud and returned to the kitchen, I turned toward her work. I realized it was well into the month and I hadn’t yet stopped to look at how she had poured her little heart into this months calendar.  In fact, I wondered,  just how many months had gone by where in my gust of rush I quickly changed out the old for the new, without stopping to see?

I walked over and took it down, making time to truly admire the fluttering rainbow wings of her neatly hand cut butterfly and all of her chosen, artistic touches. The swirl of a sunshine, the strength and glory of her tall tree and how she whimsically scrolled around her name, punctuating in pink!  I would have missed all that.  My heart smiled that I didn’t and I was filled with joy in the moment as I hung April back up.

As I began hand washing some of last nights dishes, I suddenly was whisked away again.  This time, transported and left to wander anxiously through the years 1990  to 2036.   When a waving fuchsia friend,  caught my attention from outside my kitchen window.  Notice Me, I heard again. So I quickly traveled back to the year 2016 and looked up.  It was Spring, our tree in the backyard had begun to bloom.  I hadn’t noticed.  Beautiful!

I then whipped up a fabulous , Instagram inspired and I must say, post worthy, breakfast!  Bursting with health, vibrancy and flavor! I sat down to eat it, when in no time at all, I was off again.  I’d like to say it was somewhere noteworthy, but it’s more likely it was back to that nagging to do list.  All I know is, I wasn’t at the breakfast table!  This time, I brought myself back and gave myself a talking to.  You took time to create this beautiful breakfast for yourself, enjoy it!  Be here!  So I looked at and admired my food. I chewed it slowly, appreciating all of the flavor, color and aroma of the ripe heirloom tomatoes and fresh cut basil bursting into my happy mouth!  Again, right there, in the present, joy!

In Your Presence is fullness of joy.  (Psalm 16:11 AMP)

We enter into God’s joy filled Presence with gratitude.  (Psalm 100)  As we take the time not to let our minds wander but to be fully present and unwrap the gifts that fill the given moment and are grateful for them, we can feel ourselves enter in.  We feel calmer, more at peace and filled with an inner joy.

Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift.  That’s why it’s called the present. – Bil Keane

We see an example of this when Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet while Martha busied herself with her concerns.  The Lord said  Martha Martha! You worry and fuss about a lot of things.  But there’s only one thing you need. Mary has chosen what is better, and it is not to be taken away from her.

Let us choose the better portion.  Let us choose to be here with Him and enjoy each given moment of our evanescent life.  Let’s unwrap the blessings of today, for tomorrow they will be gone, and new moments will await.

Be still, for the day is holy.   (Nehemiah 11 AMP)

Gods Presence is in the present, right here, right now.

He’s inspired life into the words you read. He’s in the comfort and warmth of the coffee mug as you grip and greet the new day.  He’s wrapped tightly around you in the arms of your child’s hug. He’s the love you see affectionately peering back at you through the window of your spouses warm, familiar eyes. He’s the beauty of brush strokes, babies, blooms, birds, taste, touch, sound and smell!  He’s  diversely revealing Himself to you through the talents of others.  Longing to sing to you, to dance with you, encourage you, inspire you, teach you, bring you laughter, joy!

He’d like to spend this time with you. To unfold life to you through His eyes.  To reveal to you this day, this moment, His gift for you.

Look, listen, be.

 Hear Him say, Notice Me.

Peculiar Treasures

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

IMG_9478

Oh no!  One’s missing!  My youngest daughter gasped on Easter Sunday with a frightened look on her tiny face.  What?  I quietly whispered as I leaned in close to my precious little one, sitting next to me on the pew.  My Shopkins, one is missing Mommy!  Egg Chick!  Don’t worry, we’ll find her. I consoled.

The next morning, as I stared down at these odd little treasures my daughters so adore, scattered all around the breakfast table, it came to me.   We are God’s peculiar treasures.  He too loves and adores each and every one of us.  He not only cherishes our differences but delights in them!  All of our odd, quirky, idiosyncrasies, characteristics and colors that make up who we are.  All of our strengths as well as our weaknesses; our gifts and our flaws.  He calls each of us by name and if even one is missing He knows, and will stop at no length to find them and bring them home.

“Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  (Romans 8:39 ESV)

We see that in the Bible, David had one thing he desired in life, and his request was this.

“One thing have I asked of the Lord, this only do I seek:  that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”  (Psalm 27:4 NIV)   He realized in his life time, that true happiness, fulfillment and contentment was obtained by being at peace and to be at peace, meant being at peace with God and dwelling in the midst of His Peaceful Presence.

Beloved, God desires the same.  You are His one thing.  There is NO THING; no mistake, no sin, no bondage, no addiction, no words that you’ve spoken, nothing you’ve ever done or will ever do, that would keep Him from loving you, pursuing you and rescuing you! No matter where you are sitting today, whether it’s a church pew, a prison cell or anywhere in between. There is no darkness deep enough that He can’t pull you from it.  He is passionate for you!  So much so that He sent His only Son to die for you, so that you can confidently draw near to Him, coming close to Him in relationship, enjoying your life and living peacefully in His Presence forever!

“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do?  Won’t he leave the ninety-nine other in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?”  (Luke 15:4 NLT)

You are different, you are peculiar and lovely in His sight!  You are like no other!  You are valued. You are chosen. You are spoken for, just as you are!  You are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God Himself (Psalm 139:14) and you are TREASURED!

God sees you, He knows you, He knows who you are in Him and what you can become! He loves you and He’s got a good plan for you!

If you seek Him, wholeheartedly, you shall find Him!  (Jeremiah 29:13)

I was lost but now I’m found, was blind but now I see!

Oh! And we found Egg Chick and brought her home!

“Now therefore, If ye will obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine.”  (Exodus 19:5 KJV)

Joy

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

IMG_8979

My family recently took a trip back to my Hubby’s old stomping grounds.  Before we left, I was multi tasking and prayed over our trip while packing.   It was dead of winter and we were flying into Chicago, so I was a bit concerned of possible flight delays or even worse, cancellations.  I prayed that we would be safe, everything would run smoothly and effectively and that we would find God’s favor wherever we went.  I envisioned and prayed that lines would open up, bags would not be lost, tables would be available, and parking spots free. (Hey why not, right!)  I prayed that everyone would enjoy themselves and that great memories would be made! Oh, and I also prayed for laughter.  I LOVE to laugh, nothing is better to me!  It’s my absolute favorite thing!  It brings me such great, incredible joy!

When we arrived home, my heart was full. It was a wonderful trip!  I sat in bed reminiscing over all the blessed moments we had, thanking God and recognizing His grace and favor in our lives.  As I was listing off one by one all of the cherished moments of gratitude to Him, I heard Him quietly intervene, “And laughter!” What?  I thought.  Oh my gosh!  Laughter!  I completely forgot I had prayed for laughter!  Right then, happiness welled up in my heart and in my eyes as I remembered the last night of our trip.  We had gone out with sisters, brothers and cousins.  NEVER in my life had I seen a group of grown adults, smashed into a three row SUV, laugh so uncontrollably, out loud, ridiculously hard!  It was as if we had been drugged or put under some kind of a spell!  It was FABULOUS!  Boy did God deliver on that one!  Yes Lord, and laughter!  Thank you!

What brings you great joy?  Do you feel you have joy in your life?

I love the beautiful image God gives us in Psalm 97!   It speaks of how Light and Joy are sown and scattered along our pathway when we follow Him!  The amplified bible refers to this kind of Joy as [the irrepressible joy, which comes from consciousness of His favor and protection.]

I believe such life joy, comes from aligning our lives to God’s will.

You will make know to me the Path of life;  You will FILL ME WITH JOY in Your Presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.  (Psalm 16:11)

God loves you.  He wants you to stick close to Him.  It’s safe there on His Path of life.  There’s peace, growth and everlasting joy there!  And, He likes to SPOIL you there!  Stick to His Path friend!  He sees you, He hears you, He promises He is delivering you personally to Paradise.  But what if I’ve wandered too far?  What if I’ve really messed up?  We all have.  I love Buddhist Teacher Jack Kornfield’s honest reply when asked after speaking on the way in which he believes to live. “Is this how you live your life?” He was asked.  “On a good day!”  He replied.  We are human. We will wander and at times, step off the beaten path.  That’s okay!  Just step right back in.

Now remain in My love.  If you keep my commands, you will remain in My love… I have told you this so that My JOY MAY BE IN YOU AND THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE COMPLETE.  (John 15:9)

The Gift of A Tender Heart

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

IMG_8635

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you;  I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.  I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My ordinances… (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

To be honest I was just walking out the door to go Target.  But I sensed Him.  This uneasiness in my spirit, conveying Don’t go, sit down and write.  But I don’t feel like writing, my soul whimpered.  I pushed the button to the garage door and proceeded to walk out to my car.  The anxiousness worsened within, as if it were rising up and filling me.  I’ve felt this before, I recognized.  All the times this tender feeling has warned me and every bad outcome that I could have escaped but chose not to listen came rushing back to memory.  It’s almost comical how quickly I turned around and shut the garage door.

So here I am.  Giving God my time. Writing.  Hello.

God knows us ya know.  You and me.  He knows where our hearts and thoughts wander when we daydream.  He knows where we want to be.  He’s trying to deliver us there.  Listen.  Follow.

When we allow The Holy Spirit to guide and steer our everyday lives He produces fruit.  More love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness and self control for our lives. (Galatians 5:22)  As we are faithful to listen, He begins to work out those daydreams.  Taking them from the inside of our hearts and working them to the outside of our lives, where we are actually living out the dream.  Truth is, it’s probably safe to say, it will be far greater than our dream, seeming as we serve a limitless, awesome God!

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20)

Where do your daydreams take you?  Is it owning your own business?  Starting a ministry?  Traveling the world?  Adopting a child?  Living a healthy, fit, free lifestyle?  Getting out of debt?  Owning your own home?  Having you’re own show?  Writing a book?  Flying a plane?  Curing a disease? Maybe today friend, it’s simply getting out of bed.  Getting one foot in front of the other, taking that next step, that next breath.  Resisting, something.  Maybe it’s cleaning your house, or your car or folding that mountain of laundry.  Or it’s finally stopping life for a moment to truly live it. Taking time to just be.  Perhaps today, it’s being the greatest Mom, Husband or friend to someone you can possibly be. What ever it is, stop striving so hard for it, that you become frustrated trying to achieve it.  That’s you, operating in the flesh, trying to run the show.  Let your best striving be to seek His face.  To know and hear and understand His voice.

When you accept Christ into your heart and life as Lord, you are given the gift of a tender heart, responsive to His touch.  I don’t know about you, but with Valentines Day swiftly approaching, I realize it’s not the chocolates, flowers, dinner or surprises that I will be most thankful for or even that matter.  It’s this beautiful gift of a heart from the Lover of my heart and soul.   It’s this extraordinary, sensitive heart that can feel that it indeed, is a heart that is held by God Himself.

May you feel overwhelmed by His overwhelming LOVE for you.  And may you allow that Love to guide you always.

Nothing But The Truth

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

IMG_8547

Truth is like water, like silk, like honey, like sunlight.  I desire Truth.  Truth in my inner being.  Truth is where I can be and breathe.  Truth is tranquil, smooth, spacious and calm to me.  God’s Truth is peace.  I receive and welcome His Truth as I do an inviting summer breeze or a soft embracing light.  Effortlessly.  Truth is where I am happy.

Did you know we are to regularly check in with ourselves to see if we are filled with and living out God’s good Truth for our lives?  That’s right, we have to regularly get with ourselves and God to do some self inventory.   (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Truth is the Word of God that inspires and shines light on the Way of Life we are to live. Truth is the Way to happiness, contentment and fulfillment in life. Truth is YOU at YOUR BEST!  God’s glory is YOU at your FINEST!

We are called to live a life of excellence!  This means we are to live in an excellent manner.  Being a person of integrity with our words and deeds, even when no one is watching.  This means choosing love and life every time. It means being honest.  Extending mercy and forgiveness, even when its hard.  It’s giving MORE and judging LESS.  Believing and seeking out the good in others, always.  It’s remembering, that love covers all. (Proverbs 10:12) Just as we hope others would cover and conceal our weaknesses, we too are to cover theirs. So, the next time you’re gabbing and have the urge to spill the juice a.k.a gossip, hold your tongue and reach for the sugar.  Love is sweet and kind, and so are you!

We need to check our hearts motives and intentions daily and listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Stopping to ask ourselves why?  Why am I…

  • Doing this?
  • Saying this?
  • Thinking this?
  • Eating this?
  • Drinking this?
  • Listening to this?
  • Watching this?
  • Is this beneficial?
  • Will I prosper and live from this?
  • Will this help others?
  • Am I glorifying God?

Take time to listen to your hearts answer. Peace will guide you in the right direction. We get to choose, the low life or the high life. Which is it we want to live?

It’s time to be like Steve Winwood and choose a higher love; the higher life! (Google it young people!) It’s time to RISE  up and step into your true calling! It’s time lay some things down and choose the better portion!

Receive and accept and learn of God’s Truth.  Truth is for you!  Truth is a gift to be unwrapped and enjoyed, tasted and tried and lived!  Put it on!  Slip into it!  Wear it comfortably, like your favorite old t-shirt or perfect pair of jeans!  Rock it, own it, sing it, sip it, preach it, dance it!   LIVE IT OUT!  Get down with your bad self!  You are AWESOME!  You were created in the very image of God Himself!  God has filled you and equipped you and you are ready to live your best life!  Go get em!  EnJOY this life you’ve been given and this person God made you to be!  Live out NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH! (2 Corinthians 13:8 AMP)  It’s God’s greatest gift to you,  It’s His desire for you!

I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  John 15:11 (NLT)IMG_8592

BeCome – Love Lights Up

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

Today, we have filters for our photographs.  If we wish, with a click of a button we can illuminate and enhance our image.

We desire to be unique, to be accepted, to be purposeful and powerful.  We wish to be wanted, to be liked, to be successful and satisfied. We long to be loved and to be happy.  We crave to be all that we were created to be.  To radiate on the outside all the passion and creativity that’s stirring, moving and aching on the inside.  To fully function and live out the good life.  We desire to become.

If we truly desire to become all that God has intended for us to be we first have to come to Him.  Come to the One and only who can release that power into our lives. Come to the One and only who can heal our bruised and battered hearts. Come to the One and only who extends and teaches compassion. Come to the One and only who can mend our broken pieces together and create something truly beautiful.

Come, He says.  Come to Me all who labor.  Come to Me and rest. Come to Me and restore.  Come to Me and be forgiven and filled.  Come.  He does not say hesitate from guilt and reproach from our sinful nature.  But come.  Come boldly, with confidence in who God says we are through His son Jesus Christ, righteous and redeemed.  (Hebrews 4:16)  Approach His throne, invite Him and His matchless grace and mercy into your life and into your heart to shape and mold you into His image.

See I am doing a new thing do you not perceive it?  (Isaiah 43:19)

You can feel it, can’t you?  You can sense that God wants to do something uniquely in and through you.  Something that will benefit not only you but His Kingdom.  He wants your life, your talents and gifts to intricately play a role in the work He is doing in and on this earth today that will impact eternity!  He desires to distinctively shine His Light through you; filtering through all that He has created you to be.

The Lord is my Sheppard [to feed, guide, and shield me].  I shall not lack.  He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.  (Psalm 23:1-2 AMP)

Your life has a predestined purpose.  The Lord is not leading you or planting you in a space that has ever before been preoccupied.  Your place in this world is fresh, tender, green, and new!   He wants to do something in and through you that has never been done before. He wants to present the world with a one of a kind gift! You!

We are not to look to the right or to the left, comparing ourselves to others. We are to keep our gaze fixed on Him.  Not listening to who and what the world says we are.  But believing who He says we are.  Chosen, forgiven, adored, free, powerful.  Firmly rooted and securely planted in Him and His unwavering truth, love and faithfulness. Ready to flourish like a well watered righteous oak, bringing forth it’s fruit in due season!

The Lord is God, who has shown and given us light [He has illuminated us with grace, freedom and joy]. (Psalm 118:27)

Christ is the Light that illuminates our life!  He is our enhance button!

If you wish to be all that God has for you, come to Him.  Come like a little child, trusting and believing that He is.  Be filled with His grace, freedom, joy and light!  Be led to a full life, a life worth living, a life to be enjoyed and envied!   BeCome all that you were meant to be!

Let Love light you up!

Pile of Denial

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

It’s the New Year, so it’s that time again, new life, new you!  I’m sprucing up the house after Christmas, and having the urge to purge all that doesn’t suit me. After all, our home is our sanctuary, our temple right?  I wish to be surrounded by things of beauty; things that bring me peace, serenity, tranquility.  So I’m starting here.  My husband calls it my pile of denial. A pile consisting of clothes I don’t feel like hanging up, pj’s I’m going to wear again anyway so really what’s the point, maybe a top or two with tags still attached that I’m planning on returning someday, a shrug from the 90’s I’ll never wear again but have sentimental attachment to, and maybe a few unfinished books thrown into the midst.  I do my best to keep the rest of the house tidy but this pile is my little pile of sloppy rebellion.  Can you relate?  I laughed yesterday while vacuuming on my husbands side of the bed noticing, he’s got a little pile of denial going on himself!  Ha! Busted!

Ever notice you have those nights when you’re tossing, turning, staring at the clock, praying to sleep but for some very frustrating, unknown reason you can’t? Or those ugly, gnarly moments, when you snap at your child or bite your spouses head off for no aparent reason?  Maybe you’ve come home exhausted from the day but your so filled with anxiety you can’t seem to relax or settle down?  Friend, you yourself may also have a pile of denial.

Did you know that we can actually grieve the Holy Spirit with our transgressions; with the way we are choosing to live our lives and and by what we are allowing into them? (Ephesians 4:30) It’s true, we have a Divine relationship going on in our midst.  God is living among us and within us. (1 Corinthians 3:16)  We are His Home. If He is uncomfortable so are we.

Think for a moment, are there any areas or attitudes in your life that need to be cleaned up, but you’ve been putting off to the side? Are there unhealthy but familiar, worn out habits, thoughts and patterns in which you are living, that no longer suit or serve you?  Are you holding on to outdated grudges, hurts and disappointments that need to be dealt with?

If so, it’s time to freshen and free up!  It’s time to create new space for all the good things God wants to do in your life!  He wants to take you to a new level of living!  He wants nothing more than to deliver you to broader, more expansive spaces of life that only He can fill!  Fill with His gifts of peace, joy, health, healing, wholeness and freedom all which lead to true happiness! He wants to answer all of your hearts dreams and desires; after all, He was The One who placed them there!IMG_7892

We can choose to invite the guidance of the Holy Spirit to work in our everyday lives, asking Him to lead the way.  With our health, our habits, our hurts, our families, our finances our businesses and our bondage’s.  He wants to be a part of it all.  Then, as He guides us in all areas of our lives we will begin making wise choices for ourselves and soon find we are filled with inner peace and rest from a calm and clear conscience.

So take some time to get with Him.  Ask God to reveal to you the areas, and relationships in your life that He would like to get started on.  And with His mighty strength and gentle hand together you will clear them away, making way for what’s to come!

The fruit of that righteousness will be PEACE; its effect will be Quietness and CONFIDENCE. (Isaiah 32:17 NIV)

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. (Proverbs 3:24)

Here’s to hearts peace and sweet sleep friend!

A Different Point of View

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

IMG_7716

Sometimes we need new perspective.

It was the weekend after Christmas and family was still in town.  The air was crisp and cool and the sky sunny in Phoenix.  I snuck my aunt, in from L.A., away from the crowd for a dunky Eggs Benedict and coffee talk.  We percolated and spilled our souls underneath the warmth of an outside heater at Town and Country’s  retro spot Snooze.  We didn’t want more shopping, we wanted beauty and breath.  Enjoying every savory bite, we finished our plates and discretely unbuttoned  our jeans.  Grabbing some joe to go, we headed out to find a view.

Driving up a steep, rocky mountain, a familiar voice chimed in “You have arrived at your destination”  Thank you Siri.  We found ourselves to be at a stunning resort with a picturesque view overlooking the Valley, just so perfectly called, A Different Pointe of View.

Earlier that morning, I had prayed before this outing. I knew my aunt was in need of some heart healing and we both were in need of some perspective on life.  I had prayed for God’s grace and favor, that He would bless this time of ours together and that He would fill our hearts with exactly what we needed.  She was getting on a plane to go home to uncertainties, and I didn’t want her to leave empty.

As we pulled in, the parking lot was bare.  My heart sank at the thought of not being able to get into the restaurant that leads to this place of peace.  We approached the rustic round doorway and it was locked.  Not a person in sight.   There goes my plan for rest and renewal. Not giving up, we continued to look for a way in.  And then, I saw it. Off to the side around the way, a smaller, more secluded door, hidden in vines was propped open by a single rock.  We smiled at each other in awe of our luck and silently slipped inside to find a circular, secluded staircase that led us up.

The view was expansive, clear, stunning and bright!  Mountain peaks,  palms trees and blue sky all lined in a burst of red geraniums! It was quite on top of the world and things seemed pleasantly small.  The gentle hush and brush of a breeze seemed to sway us in a nurturing way.  We breathed deeply and were filled with peace and perspective.

In the midst of our bliss, I looked over to see my aunt, basking in the glorious dance and kiss of the golden sun. Son bathing if you will. Filled with exactly what she came for. I smiled at her as I realized The Rock held open the door!

Wherever you’re heart is sitting today. What ever uncertainties you face.  Whether you’re in need of healing or hope, peace or perspective, know this.   In this ever changing, shifting world, Jesus is The Rock.  He is The Way that leads to Life. When you place your hope, your heart and your life on His unwavering foundation of LOVE, you can rest in trust.  Trust that when the time, the person, the place or opportunity is right, The Rock will be there, holding open the door that leads you to exactly where you are meant to be.

Descendants

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

IMG_7138

“Rotten to the core, core, core, I’m rotten to the core!”  The characters evilly slither and sing in Disney’s movie Descendants.

The movie Descendants is about just that, the descendants of the infamous Disney villains; including Sleeping Beauties Maleficent, Snow White’s Evil Queen and 101 Dalmatians Cruella de Vil.

What these villains passed on to their children was nothing short of character traits, beliefs and values that were indeed rotten to the core!

Which brings me to this. What choices today, in our own lives are we choosing to make that will either bless or curse our future generations?  What are we leaving behind?  Are we extending health, wholeness and holiness? Are we planting ordained seeds of faith and allotting time to establish generational roots?

For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone.  (Romans 14:7)

The Bible clearly states that we are given choices daily. Each moment we live, move and breathe we choose life or death; blessing or curse.

We do this with the thoughts we choose to think, the words we choose to speak and the actions in every area of our lives that we choose to take.

In fairy tales, the magic mirror and crystal ball reveal their truth and future, likewise, our choices reveal our descendants future inheritance or lack thereof.

Keep and seek [be familiar with] all the commandments of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land and leave it as an inheritance for your children after you forever.  (1 Chronicles 28:8)

We all desire for our children to be blessed. We don’t however always relate their blessings to our, what seem like minuscule choices.  We wish to take the steps of faith and obedience that will lead them to an abundant life, a Promised Land!  A land that is filled with plenty, a land where they will eat and enjoy of the fruit!

In order for that to take place, we have to cultivate today, tomorrow, and the next day and the next and the next!

Cultivation is a period of growth in the presence of light at a very specific time, place and atmosphere.

It is no mistake that you my friend are alive in this world today!  God has placed you in a specific family, community, church, workplace etc. for a very specific purpose; one that only you, your gifts and your experiences can fulfill in this day of age.  He is asking you to prepare a way for His people, for your people.   He is asking you, He is calling you to cultivate.

What is the Lord putting on your heart?  What thoughts, words and deeds is he leading you to grow in the Prescence of His Light for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14)

We have to understand that it’s so much bigger than us!  Some of the work, sacrifice, prayers and words God is asking of you today are the very blessings He is preparing for your child, for your granddaughter, for your great, great, grandson of the future.

I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.  (John 4:38 NLT)

Our life today is the result of the cultivation and harvest of the choices our ancestors made and passed on.  They left behind their legacies and inheritances of love or hate, peace or strife, health or addiction, prosperity or poverty, faith or fear, Life or death.

So in fairy tale fashion, I ask you today.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall what do you see in your crystal ball?

Tune Into Truth

by Jennifer Vlaicevic, in category Uncategorized

You see it everywhere these days, people partially tuning into the world around them.  One ear bud in, the other loosely dangling free; they’re listening to one thing, while being receptive to another.

Bonding through a family bike ride, my oldest daughter plugged both of her ear buds in wanting to enjoy some tunes.  Seeing that it was a busy street, my husband called out to her, telling her to stop at the curb and to watch for cars. But she kept riding, unaware of his warning. We quickly found that she couldn’t hear the forewarning of her father to keep her from harms way.  I rapidly sped up to her and gently advised her to keep one ear free so she could hear her father’s voice.

Similarly, we are to stay tuned into our Heavenly Fathers voice as we walk throughout our days, so He can lovingly help navigate us successfully and safely through this life!

Proverbs 2:2  -” Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding.”  (AMP)

We recognize God our Father’s voice not by knowing of Him but by getting to know Him personally.  We do that by spending time with Him in His Presence and in His Word found in the Bible, scripture based books and devotionals. We draw near to Him, receiving relationship through belief of His one and only Son Jesus Christ, whom the Father sent out of His great love for the world. (John 3:16)

As we then begin to get acquainted with Him and come to know His Character, we understand that He is Love and kindness. That He is gentle and faithful and rigidly righteous in His Way. That He is good and pure and Light and in Him no darkness is found! (1 John 1:5) That He doesn’t condemn us or oppress us but He lifts us up out of our mess, redeems us, cleanses us and sanctifies us as Holy and His and then frees us to live with Him in His spiritual abundance; offering us the blessings of peace, joy and true happiness found only in Him. He leads our soul to prosper and directs our steps to a life well lived!

As we become attuned to listening for His voice while we walk, ride, run, skip, jump, dance, yoga, and let’s be real, sometimes stumble and crawl through this life we can begin to filter through these voices in and outside of our head by holding them up to His Truth.

We see in 1 John 4:1 that we cannot trust every spirit or thought that comes to mind but we are to test it to see if it’s from God.

The Holy Spirit whom Jesus defines as the Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Strengthener and Standby comes to dwell within the born again child of God and promises never to leave us or forsake us. His ministry to believers is to aide us in life and to recall these biblical truths, these foundational promises found in The Bible at the exact divine moment we need them, illuminating our pathway and helping us steer our course!  (John 14:26)

For example, if these thoughts come to mind.  “There’s just no hope, my life is never going to get better, I’m never going to get a better job or get out of debt, my child is never going to come around, my marriage can never be restored, I can never break this addiction.” Whatever it may be .  We can be reminded of Truth as   Jeremiah 29:11 is recalled, “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  We can hear Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the  good of those who love Him.”  We can believe Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

The Holy Spirit invites and directs us in ways, in The Way that leads us to fullness of life in our health, healing and wholeness; a life and soul in which we are completely satisfied in our relationships, with God, ourselves and others.

Truly I ask, what could be better?   Pause and take a moment to receive and breathe that in!

You are invited to walk and live in the Presence of LOVE HIMSELF!  The Love and Power that is able to accomplish  far exceedingly above all that we can hope or even imagine to ask for!  (Ephesians 3:20)

The One True God Himself who has purposed and planned your beautiful, sacred life from beginning to end wants to talk!  To YOU!  So I ask? Are you listening?

Blessed and prosperous are we when we heed; when we tune in to His Truth and accept His loving grace filled guidance, trusting and believing that He is leading to Life and eternity unimaginable!

Tune into to Truth tunes for you!
